The Shadows of Chaos

From target killings around Karachi, to human trafficking throughout the country; from marred and impaired corporate culture, full of corruption and wrongdoing, to mere withholding of basic rights as a civilian of this country, lawlessness prevails everywhere it can.

Growing up in this country, the country I love the most, I realized that chaos & mayhem is overriding in almost every walk of life.

Lawlessness, kind of, has categories. Lawlessness that dominates, which has so efficiently been imbedded in our life that we don’t realize we’re a part of it, closely followed by lawlessness that includes jaw-dropping offences and major transgressions that a majority of the people still have the decency to point a finger at.

A lawless state is not just the absence of laws but the failure to execute the laws. Apart from that, the nation in general has lost the sense of morality, dignity and decency, especially the youth. Economic, socio-economic and day-to-day life, in general, is being affected in a negative way. Like, Karachi has serious lawlessness problems and the business community has been agitating against it for the last couple of years. It’s not just Karachi, it is Pakistan in general. Infact the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has expressed alarm and concern at the growing intolerance and lawlessness in Pakistan.

We need to think about this issue and counter this problem by educating and inculcating patience in individuals and majorly working towards the establishment and efficient implementation of Rule of Law.

  2. our nation is suffering due to bad governance. we blame the govt, although i beleive only the govt is not responsible for such conditions. its us who have created it. there is lack of unity and awareness in our nation. we choose the representatives, knowing they our not capable. we look for our personal interests rather than looking for the betterment of the whole nation.
the govt is to be blamed but we need to bring a change in ourselves first. what u think is not good for others, y du we prefer it for our ownselves. if every person in the country starts making contribution by brng a positive change and practice it, im sure with time the situation will change.

  4. This because of illiteracy and unawareness of the laws. The only way to counter this problem is by providing education and to create awareness about the laws....so one should consider this unethical

You have identified one of the basic problem of the society. We as Pakistani are in this condition just because our masses are uneducated and illiterate.
Thanks for writing and this is highly appreciable.

a very hot topic discussed almost everywhere in Pakistan.all the issues raised in the article are very important as will have devastating effects in future if not countered today.we need to know the basic cause and that is lack of education,it is basically the starting point of all this.its very common in our country to blame government but i think its also our responsibility to think about these issues and do something.i think we as a youth need to step up now and bring change otherwise future is very dark.

  8. I wont blame the police for this, the wrong doers are us and hence we need to look into ourselves, secondly obeying the law is very important which most of us don't follow including me..

  9. Truely , its a now or never kind of situation for the whole of PAKISTAN and the time has come that we should pull our socks up and shoulder the responsibility of making things right for us and for our beloved land through commitment, discipline , faith and unity. This is the time dat we should rise above from individuality and work together as one nation to save PAKISTAN.

  10. We, the Youth of Pakistan, holds the Golden key for betterment of Pakistan. we are 57% of the total population. Everyone has heard of the saying, "katray katray se banta hei darya", we can bring a revolution in Pakistan, trust me, by contributing some good to the deteriorating conditions of Pak and the generation to come wil follow us. :D

  12. Its a nice eye opening topic, touching what an average Pakistani is facing in every day life. Despite the fact lawlesness has been effecting the massses since past many years. however people sitting at helm of affairs are not inclined to change their priorties to address this lingering yet strengthing issue. The youth of Pakistan needs to rise to the ocassion and be bould enough to take this alamring situation through their education by horns before its too late.

  13. I agree with your view of the situation. If the government makes laws to create stability but does not enforce them then this problem will never go away.

  14. A Greek Statesman, Pericles, has described corruption in an interesting way: "Fishes live in the sea, as men do on land; the great ones eat up the little ones", and that is exactly what is happening in our country. It is essential for every citizen of Pakistan to try to curb this menace of corruption, in their own individual capacity, to help the country prosper as it should. A well written post indeed!

  15. Very well written article...This is the only reason in Pakistan for all the problems. Everything is linked to corruption. If corruption is minimized all the problems that Pakistan faces today will be vanished. We have an opportunity now for voting the right person in the coming elections. Please all wake up now.

  16. Corruption is definitely the root cause of the current situation of Pakistan. It is high time that the people of Pakistan, specially the youth, stand up for what is best for our country and advocate honesty and lawfulness in its true sense.

  19. Very well written we really need to execute our laws without it our country would not prosper. Education and awareness of such issues is also very important. We need to flush all those people who are the roots of this lawlessness other wise it will just expand in the coming youth of our country.
