Pakistan may not be making headlines in
the world on corruption these days but contemporary discourse within the
country has been focused on the issue in the recent past. In fact there is a
discernible pattern over the years where concerns about corruption dominate
discourse for some time and then seamlessly other issues take over public
imagination. Meanwhile corrupt practices continue in one form or the other,
only to raise their head again
The obvious question to ask is that in
spite of so much concern for so long, why has Pakistan failed to effectively
reduce corruption? Is it because of a lack of effective anti-corruption
strategies? If that is so, then why can international or regional best practice
not be adopted? The answer to these
questions are inside the heart of every single Pakistani who is doing
corruption on the smallest of scales even, who is taking or giving bribes for
whatever sake. Corruption and bribery are interlinked in fact are directly proportional to each other, eradicate one of these two from the society the
other one will vanish itself. Pakistan can never become a successful nation
without eradicating these two menaces from the society because bribe and
corruption are responsible for the dismal state of Pakistan today, still
nothing is lost authorities and individual all need to step up and realise
there responsibilities, realise that they are Pakistanis and they have to do something in the interest of Pakistan. Our country needs us more than ever before
eradicating bribe and corruption from our country would surely help us get back
on track, and it is upto every single Pakistani to help Pakistan get rid of
this issue.

More anti corruption measures should be taken so as to eradicate corruption and get Pakistan on the right track again.
ReplyDeleteBribe is a curse. This is morally as well as socially unacceptable.so I'll agree with the author that we should stand against this curse.
